Architectural Control Committee (ACC)

Article VI of the Condominium Bylaws outlines the duties of the Architectural Control Committee (ACC) and the guidelines by which they consider requests that come before them. It also includes information about the requirements for building in Alden Meadows. We encourage you to review Article VI for more information about this process.

The Alden Meadows Condominium Association (AMCA) Board is pleased that you have decided to build on your property. We are here to assist you in any way we can. Feel free to contact an AMCA Board Member if you have questions.

If you intend to begin any of the following projects, your plans must receive the approval of the Architectural Control Committee (ACC) and the AMCA Board.

  • Build a home on a lot you own or are purchasing
  • Add a new structure or modify an existing structure on a lot you own.

No excavation may begin until the ACC and AMCA Board have approved your project.

Once you decide to build, please contact a member of the ACC to find out what information is required in order to approve your project. You should also review Article VI of our Condominium Bylaws for more information about what is required for homes and buildings constructed on lots within Alden Meadows.

The ACC may require some or all of the following information/documents:

  • Two complete sets of preliminary sketches showing floor plans, exterior elevations, and an outline specification for materials and finishes.
  • Upon approval of preliminary sketches, you may be asked to submit two complete sets of plans and specifications, in a form satisfactory to the Committee, showing the following;
  1. The exterior design, including the type of siding, roof materials, and foundation.
  2. The exterior color scheme, including the color of the house, doors and windows, trim, roof, garage and garage door(s).
  3. The exact location of the house or improvement on the lot, including a site plan that shows the distance from the lot lines to  the house, garage,  driveway, and/or other structures.
  4. The location of the parking areas and the landscaping, including location and construction of all utilities. 
  5. The paving material to be used for the driveway.

 

The ACC will work as quickly as possible to process your request and make a decision. However, the committee has up to 30 days from the date you submit all requested information and/or documentation to make a decision on your project.
